This year’s JVI tournament and fundraiser was held on a warm ‘weather challenged’ summer day in Stouffville, Ontario. Participation this year competed with summer vacations for some, however the enthusiasm and generous friendship from all golfers more than made up for that. The shotgun start was perfect, and the only interruption was a thunder, lightning storm! After a short 30 minute break, everyone was able to conclude their round, as well as try their hand at the putting contest. Prizes for putting, longest drives, closest to the pin, and of course, 1^st and 2^nd place were awarded during the dinner.

Without certain, the highlight of the prizes was the incredible new JVI trophy that was initiated into the tournament. The masterpiece was created, designed and fabricated by Adam Thorndyke, a good friend and colleague of John’s. It has now been engraved with all 3 champion teams to date.

Once more hole sponsors came through for us, and made a huge contribution to the success of the tournament. The Silent Auction went very well with additional proceeds gained. We are very grateful for and thank hole sponsors, and Silent Auction donors.  Before and after the meal, everyone was treated to beautiful, soulful, music from Roland Campbell, once again adding a great deal to the atmosphere of friendship and sense of community in the room.

Total funds raised for this terrific event is $ 12,000. We thank all for participating, donating, volunteering, and wishing us well. Your support and generosity are very appreciated and will go a long way to fund initiatives that John would be proud of developing.
